Welcome to Mac Skills for Students! This course is designed to help you unlock the full power of your Mac for learning, creativity, and organization. Throughout this self-paced course, you will master essential macOS tools—from taking organized notes and recording video intros to annotating screen captures and editing media.

🎯 Course Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Organize & Plan: Structure notes, create checklists, and pin important files using the Notes app.

  • Create & Communicate: Record creative video intros and media using Photo Booth.

  • Capture & Share: Take clear screenshots and share targeted digital information.

  • Annotate & Edit: Use Markup tools to add text, shapes, and arrows to photos and screenshots for assignments.

  3. Access to Canvas to complete practice assignments and quizzes.

Your grade in this course will be evaluated through hands-on practice activities and quick knowledge checks:

  • Knowledge Checks & Quizzes (40%): Short, interactive quizzes at the end of each module (Matching, Fill-in-the-Blank, Multiple Choice, Ordering).

  • Applied Assignments (60%): Hands-on projects where you submit screenshots, notes hubs, edited photos, or recorded videos showing your new skills in action.

  1. Follow the Steps: Watch the embedded tutorial videos and follow the step-by-step guides before attempting the quizzes.

  2. Practice as You Go: Open the Mac apps alongside Canvas so you can try out each button and menu as you learn.
